No.
Has it ever occurred to you that the people who work for FEMA are Americans just like the rest of us?
I have a job interview tomorrow with the Canadian Ministry of Labour for a student position as an ‘Emergency Management Assistant’. What kind of questions would you reckon might be asked? Thanks!
Here is a list of some of the most common employment interview questions:
• What are your major weaknesses?
• What type of work experience do you bring to this job?
• What do you see yourself doing in 5-10 years?
• Why do you want to work for us?
• What assets do you bring to this company?
• Discuss a project or undertaking in which you have been successful, why do you believe you succeeded.
• Discuss something at which you did not succeed, what you learned from the experience.
• If you have supervised others, how do you think your staff would describe your management style?
• How do you feel about working in stressful situations?
• Would you describe yourself as a thinker or an action taker?
• Describe a goal you have set for yourself in the past and the steps you took to accomplish it.
• Pick someone in the business or professional world that you admire- why do you respect this individual?
• What do you do for fun? What are your personal interests?
• Describe the type of manager you would like to work for.
The blog articles offer great information about how to prepare before the interview, what to do and not to do during the actual interview, and action you need to take after the interview.
Good luck!
Do they get any training with any weapons and if there is such a thing do they get emergency management certified. Also if there are any priors did you enjoy your job and did it your skills translate well to the civilian world? also do you know how long there pipeline is and any other info would be greatly appreciated, Thank you in advance!!!
Pipeline is from the day the trainee leaves for basic to the day that they sign in at their first base. As for how long you’d be pipeline, it matters how long it’ll take you to get through BMT (that’s of course without getting recycled), how long your tech school is and if you get washed back, and how much and how long leave you intend on taking before you sign into your first base. Hope this helps.
I am currently a Junior working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security with an Area of Concentration in Emergency Management.
Please do not send me to Google. I have done my part.
Why ask here when you can contact fema?
I know you need a couple courses, which you can read and take online, i think even on their site.
You ve done your part? If you can take all of those courses, why do you need us for something as simple as contacting them?
I would not study anything that has no interest for me. You would be be bored and unhappy with spending the rest of your life doing something that you do not like./.
Here’s the website. I’m sure you can find what you need.

I have been a volunteer firefighter and EMT-B for several years. I just finished with an Associate’s in General Studies. I am transferring to a 4 year institution but do not know exactly what BS Degree to pursue. I want to become a police officer and obviously, work my way up through Chain of Command through the years but which degree is better: BS in Emergency Management or BS in Criminal Justice? Any ideas and/or suggestions would be glady appreciated. I really do enjoy all aspects of public safety; Police, Fire and Medical. Which degree offers more career wise though? Thanks!
I think that the Criminal Justice degree is more appropriate for a police officer./
I am looking for a PAID internship in the Chicago area for Summer 2010. I am a Sophomore, majoring in Geography with a Certificate in Sustainability. I want to pursue Emergency Management (EM) to work with Natural Disasters. I am planning on getting a degree in EM as well. But as of currently I am looking for some experience field work in anything of the sorts.
What I am looking for is the best way to go about doing this, finding one and applying. If you are familiar with general or specific information, thank you! Websites, Groups, Jobs…. Anything would be great, thanks again!
careers.scienceontheweb.net - I found such internship info here. It has lots of internships, job openings and scolarships for college students.
What do they mostly do?
google US air force and go under careers and look up EMA.
