What in your opinion was this phantom ship? Was it responsible for the titanic disaster?

Posted by admin on October 28th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 5 Comments »

Just before a few minutes before the iceberg was sighted, the titanic watchmen saw a ship in the dark. There were no lights on aboard the ship. When the titanic authorities tried to make contact with the ship, there was no reply. As soon as the ship disappeared out of sight, the titanic crew saw the iceberg and the rest is history. The fact this ship was seen by the titanic crew is mentioned even in wikipedia which uses the word "mysterious ship" to denote it, as if it was something horrible. What in your opinion was this phantom ship? Was it responsible for the titanic disaster?

    No; the iceberg was responsible.

When a ship is sinking and some cargo is thrown overboard to prevent disaster, is it "SOCIALIST" to charge…?

Posted by admin on October 26th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 5 Comments »

…the other passengers for the value of the lost cargo?

    Why or why not?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_average

The law of general average does not charge passengers to cover the losses of cargo. It means that all owners of cargo being shipped share the burden of cost of any cargo that was jettisoned.

There is nothing socialist about it.

Soccer fans: What happened in the Hillsborough disaster in 1989?

What happened in the disaster at Enfeild?
I’m really confused about what actually happened, and why so many people died. Wikipedia doesn’t help either…

    Thanks.

It was an absolute tragedy for all Liverpool folk. I wasn’t alive back then, but my parents told me about it. I also read about it in Steven Gerrard’s biography.

So, we were playing Nott Forest at Sheffield (not Anfield) and had loads of away support. Too much, in fact. Before long, the away stand was completely full. But there will still thousands of angry Liverpool fans outside trying to get in. In an attempt to ease tensions, the authorities decided to allow the fans to enter. The away stand collapsed under the pressure of the singing and jumping fans. It’s not the fans’ faults, as we’re well known for strong spirit, loyal, and support. The stadium simply could not handle it.

Could someone help me out with finding USA statistics according to reliable resources?

Posted by admin on August 21st, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 1 Comment »

I need to know how much the USA has recently helped out in foreign military, foreign economic crisis, and foreign natural disasters. Please, I appreciate if anyone helps but I need this from government or university websites, not things like wikipedia.

    Greedy, aren’t you.

    1. In case you hadn’t noticed, every wikipedia page has a section of references at the bottom that almost always tells you where the data came from. So if you have wikipedia page with the data you want, you can almost always get the original source.

    2. As a result, wikipedia is generally very accurate and reliable on matters of fact.

Should Romney hire Palin’s PR disaster team to clean up his "corporations are people" event?

Posted by admin on August 16th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 4 Comments »

they should get started in re-writing the wikipedia to make sure it says that corporations are indeed people

Economically, all the burdens placed on corporations ultimately fall on the employees - mostly taxes.

Is it possible that in the near future they will find a way to make nuclear waste decompose in a few hours?

Posted by admin on July 20th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 2 Comments »

    instead of 1000’s of years

If this can be done people will be able to resettle areas like Chernobyl

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster_effects

If they can find a way to manipulate the weak force yes.

After the Nuclear Disasters in Japan and Chernobyl should we switch over to Geothermal electricity production?

    @ Y U Hate to Love Me

How many people had to live with painful health problems like cancer and birth defects from both disasters.
    Much much more than 150.

Germany is closing all of their nuclear plants after promoting other sources including solar power on peoples homes. You forgot solar, wind and wave power. z

Is someone taking the piss out of Munich on wikipedia?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 6 Comments »

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munich_air_disaster

"It ploughed through a fence past the end of the runway, before the port wing hit a nearby house, transporting the house to the land of Oz and was torn off."

The land of Oz? What numpty has done that? Why hasn’t wikipedia sorted it?
Wait it is gone now, they have sorted it. Fvcking stupid.
I did notice it Keiran mate, must be the Scottish intuiton, just like Busby ;) Wasn’t sure whether he actually meant to make a snide remark but I didn’t rule it out

I’m surprised no-one caught onto Aces’ sick little joke in the title of his question.

”Going strong in all four competitions at one stage earlier this season and then CR-ASH ! - lol”

Of course he’ll deny it but he’s well aware that it’s on at the moment, since two decent questions have already been posted about it.

I would definitely put it down as a snide remark. Sneaky little cvnt.

    Super-moon cause Natural disaster?

Posted by admin on March 26th, 2011 and filed under wikipedia disaster | 7 Comments »

NASA says that "the Super-moon does not cause natural disasters". I did a quick search for March 1993 natural disaster (because the last super-moon was in March 1993), and found out that their was a BIG storm even called the Storm of the Century on the exact dates of the super-moon.

    (article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_Storm_of_the_Century).

I believe in facts not what the government or NASA says and the facts say that the natural disaster might be caused by the moon. WHAT DO YOU THINK????
Don’t know what super-moon is read this article:
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20110318/sc_space/supermoonrisesbiggestfullmoonin18yearsoccurssaturdaynight#mwpphu-container

As Flying Car said earlier, "correlation does not simply imply causation."

    For example,

A occurs in correlation with B

Therefore, B must be the cause of A

—> From the statement above, you should see that there just might be some outside variable "C" that could in fact be what causes A to occur.

A common example of the correlation principle is the following:

    For example:

If the sky gets cloudy, it’s going to rain?

False, because does it actually rain each time that the sky gets cloudy. Nope, there usually is some other outside variable such as a low pressure system moving into a high pressure system causing storms as one example.

Also, wikipedia isn’t a very reliable source, which I know for a fact you know ; )
NASA is or now was staffed with some of the smartest people in the world.
They have their trade down, and astronomy is just basically physics on a really "large scale"
gravity and the pull of the moon on the earth has been calculated to almost pin-point
precision. And, with the moon in its natural location, a mere shift by a couple hundred or even thousand miles won’t do much more than create a stronger tide.

***I hope that this helps some!!!!!!!***
