might be useful to 1.) stop the rest of the aeroplane exploding into your face after you’ve evacuated, 2.) determine which side of the aeroplane it’s best to evacuate from, given one of the engines is on fire.

Yes, exactly - let me make sure we get everything. And yes, definitely from a printed checklist. There are “memory items” but you use a checklist for a reason.

Would they go this slow in a real emergency? Maybe not, but to err on the side of diligence and second-guessing, and reliance on the checklist all makes for a very safe pilot. Believe me, if the flight is in trouble, you don’t want some idiot up the front improvising. Fly by the numbers!

      Yes, they are …
Yes, they are seriously going to go through all of that if the “airplane” is on fire. Shutting down engines, ensuring fire extinguishing agents have discharged, cabin depressurised etc is essential to getting the passengers off. This is what pilots are paid to do. What would YOU do? Run around shrieking in panic?

A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids’ room, the father said,”Take the kids and get out of the house. We’ll call the police, we don’t have a clown statue.” The “clown statue” is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don’t post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand(SORRY BOUT SPAM THIS REALLY FREAKS ME

      First of all this …
First of all this is a training video. So everything is done in a relatively slow manner to demonstrate the procedure to the trainee. Secondly any item..if missed on this checklist might endanger the passenger during the actual evacuation hence the need for the crew to complete the drill. Thank you for your interest on the subject.

So there seriously going to go through all of that if the airplane is on fire and could explode at any second?
