Would they go this slow in a real emergency? Maybe not, but to err on the side of diligence and second-guessing, and reliance on the checklist all makes for a very safe pilot. Believe me, if the flight is in trouble, you don’t want some idiot up the front improvising. Fly by the numbers!

First of all this … First of all this is a training video. So everything is done in a relatively slow manner to demonstrate the procedure to the trainee. Secondly any item..if missed on this checklist might endanger the passenger during the actual evacuation hence the need for the crew to complete the drill. Thank you for your interest on the subject.
