  • How long will it be before my area floods before global warming?

Posted by admin on January 8th, 2010 and filed under floods |

I live only about 500 feet above sea level. Will melted ice from from the north pole flood my area in my lifetime?

Nathan - not even the wildest nightmares of Al Gore foresee that kind of sea level rise.

I would quite happily buy a house that was only a few feet above sea level and on the sea front. Maybe in the Maldives.

A judge in the UK ruled that Gore must show a waiver before the " Inconvenient Truth" propaganda movie is shown in European schools saying that that ,among 8 other things in the movie and simply not true http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/inconvenient-untruths.html. Why don’t you look for yourself PB before you shoot your hole off…

Under business as usual, 20 feet rise over a bit more than a century.

500 feet above sea level corresponds to the top of Hampstead Heath, the highest ground between the Chilterns and the Urals. So I reckon you’re pretty safe.

Sage: did you make this up yourself, or do you have a source for it? I don’t like Al Gore personally but I don’t like fairytales either.

You think you have problems. I live in an area that is 8 feet under sea level and is protected by levees. Problem is the levees break once in awhile. Of course, the fishing is good.

Your great, great grandchildren should live so long. I would not be investing in a houseboat, just yet.

Don’t worry, you live so high above the sea level, but when the time come your house might be at sea side, please tell me where do you live, I might visit you on my holidays by the sea.

Never!!! The earth has been warmer in the past than it is now and the sea level has not changed that much.

Here is a list of 500 Peer Reviewed Papers on the subject:

These all question the idea of man made global warming.

I gave you a link since the list it too long for this tiny space.
