The reason that gun … The reason that gun nuts and hunters are for environmental protection is because they live in it, and the last thing they want to see is the forest and rivers being polluted or destroyed. Hunting tags, fishing tags, outdoor gear, guns, etc have a tax on them that funds animal refuge maintenance and construction, research, state parks, ODFW, etc. The last thing any hunter wants to see is poaching and destruction of wildlife habitat. Hurt the environment, hurt the wilderness so many people enjoy.
I guess it all … I guess it all depends on how you’re measuring. The conservatives/rednecks dominate in square miles but the liberals certainly dominate in population. Either way I have found most ppl here have a strong independent streak. It’s not uncommon to find gun nuts who are for enviromental protection.

hood river is a … hood river is a tourist spot for windsurfers, that says something about the state of oregon how? considering most people travel there and can be from anywhere in the world, yea. seriously I live in SE Portland, there are NO rednecks here, and the portland metro are controls the whole state almost. hood river is not part of that either

Go to eastern Oregon during the Pendleton Roundup (one of the biggest annual rodeos in the world) if you dont believe me. One time as a kid I rode with my folks through a town called Drain (hows that for a giveaway) on the Oregon coast. We saw some used tires for sale with a simple sign in front saying “Tars 4 sale”. No rednecks in Oregon…yeah right.
