INFO:
An ambulance bus is a mass casualty, mass evacuation, mass decontamination, or mass quarantine vehicle for transporting large numbers of patients from a mass casualty incident. A typical ambulance bus transports 20 to 24 patients on stretchers.
Ambulance buses are used as mass evacuation vehicles, to transport large numbers of stretchered patients
The AmbuBus Kit (Bus Stretcher Conversion Kit) is an effective and efficient solution for mass evacuation and transport of special needs patients, casualties, and others who require non-ambulatory transport. Quickly and easily retrofit vehicles of oppurtunity into mass casualty transport vehicles. With only 1 palletized Kit (2 Frames), convert an existing passenger bus into an Ambulance Bus capable of safely transporting 18 stretchers and IVs along with 6 operators and their medical support equipment. The ruggedized and palletized crate allows for quick and simple logistics for pre-positioning and emergency response. The kit is all-inclusive requiring no additional tools for embly.

In order to encourage Americans to prepare themselves, their families and their communities, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in partnership with The Advertising Council, has sponsored public service advertisements (PSAs) that educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to all kinds of emergencies. The Ready Campaign asks individuals to do three key things to prepare for the unexpected: (1) get an emergency supply kit, (2) make a family emergency plan, and (3) be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses.
More PSAs can be found at: http://www.ready.gov/america/about/psa.html

A video recorded before the Katrina victims were evacuated from New Orleans to the Astrodome. At this time the people that chose to stay were still at the Superdome and the convention center.
Before the flaming starts, let me say that I really lean right and I really don’t like Cooper that much but it was just awesome to see someone out a leader for their lack of concern over those victims.

Several days ago I discovered this road sign had been erected overnight on a route I travel almost daily. It was placed at the entrance to a D.O.T. highway “rest area”. Should this be considered as an indicator of potential martial law enforcement and travel restriction. Or, should it be considered as standard D.O.T. signage used to indicate some sort of designated contingency response area?
Has anyone else seen similar signs in their area? Or, does anyone with D.O.T. and/or emergency response experience have any insights to add?
Just thought y’all might be interested to see this.

“Designed for Emergencies”, Emergency Management Conference has speakers that worked in WTC7 on September 11, 2001 and also speakers that help design there new office. Henry Jackson, Deputy Commissioner for Technology, talks about what happened to WTC7 on that fateful day and what is going on today to fight terrorism. But like many of these people in high places there story sounds like a script that has been proven false in the past.
Nate Evans and Alex Copp Confronted Henry Jackson to ask why we are ignoring the 800 (FEMA) camps built and about the overwhelming evidence of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks being staged. Henry Jackson not liking the questioning quickly tries to worm himself out the interview.
New York City new Office of Emergency Management replaces the city’s former headquarters in the World Trade Center, destroyed on September 11, 2001. Speakers discussed project details, with a focus on the command, situation room, and the press center.

7/31/07 House Oversight Committee Testimony of Mr. Al Ashwood, Director, Oklahoma State Emergency Management Agency, President, National Emergency Management Agency, about FEMA mismanagement and the failure to properly engage state emergency managers.
“In my 19 years of Emergency Management, I have never experienced a more polarized environment between state and federal government.”
Of The National Response Framework: “You’ll be told in this national document, developed over many of collaboration between all levels of government and all disciplines. Let me be the first to say that this statement is totally inaccurate. I have queried my colleagues at both the state and local level and realized that no one knows what information this document contains and we won’t until we read it like everyone else in this room.”

This is clipped from Trial by Fire: A Carrier Burns, a 1973 film produced by the United States Navy about the devastating 1967 fire aboard USS Forrestal off the coast of Vietnam. The film is unique in that it was produced from actual footage of the fire and emergency response efforts, both successful and unsuccessful, taken by on board cameras. Due to the first bomb blast killing nearly all of the specially trained firefighters on the ship, the remaining crew, who had no formal firefighting training, had to improvise. Though there were many firefighting tools available on the Forrestal, including emergency respirators, the general crew was not trained in their use and so were unable to use them correctly. In response to this tragedy, recommendations made were: development of a remote-control fire-fighting system for the flight deck, development of more stable ordnance, improvement in survival equipment, and increased training in emergency response and fire survival. This film has been used to teach new recruits firefighting and emergency response lessons learned in the mishap.
Then Navy pilot John McCain was involved in this incident — his plane was the original one hit that began this fire. The entire 19 minutes film is available at the Fedflix site on the internet archives at http://www.archive.org/details/gov.ntis.ava19833vnb1 .
