Hi there, Pokemaster Emil here. This is my third gym battle in Pokemon Pearl. I do apologize for the bad sound quality.

Maylene is a a fighting type trainer with the following team:
Meditite Lv. 27
Machoke Lv. 27
Lucario Lv. 30

Can I beat Maylene the “Barefoot, Fighting Genious?” Feel free to comment just don’t be too mean.

P.S. The reason why my pokemon won’t listen to me is because I am not its original trainer. My friends and I traded starters with each other to have a bigger variety in the beginning of the game and so make eventual pokedex completion easier.

This is Part 28 of my ongoing walkthrough for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. In this video I take on Veilstone Citys Gym Leader Maylene, with hopes of obtaining the Cobble Badge, the 3rd of 8.

Maylene can be pretty tough even if you have the right pokemon. Her fighting types all of high attack and are a threat to hit you hard. Going for their weaknesses is your best bet, but be cautious of the wide variety of moves her pokemon have.
